Community Shows Support For Crash Victim's Daughter

The loved ones of a woman killed in a head on car crash on North Reserve this week are now raising money to care for the little girl she left behind. When 22-year-old Jessica Hill died Tuesday day, she left behind a two-year-old daughter, and the Missoula community is coming together this weekend to be sure she's taken care of.***Four days after a crash that killed their best friend, Lyndsie Williams and Mike Walker looked through mother/daughter pictures Jessica Hill had taken with her two year old a few months ago."She was a great mother, an amazing mother, just a really big family person," said Walker. Both Walker and Williams said they?ve known Hill since they were kids."We did grade school, middle school, high school. I don't remember not knowing her," said Williams. She and Williams were there when Hill's daughter, Kennidie, was born, and they say they're there for Kennidie now"One minute you're so sad, and then the next minute you look at Kennidie, and you're so happy, seeing Kennidie makes me so happy," said Williams."We?re just amazed that there's so many people that can come together and work together as a community to help out this little girl," said Walker. In the hardest week of their lives, Walker and Williams say they've been amazed at the way the Missoula community has showed support for Hill's family and friends, especially for Kennidie."I got a phone call from the nice people at Marvin?s Bar and Grill, down at the Y, and they said that they would like to set up a 50/50 raffle to raise some money to donate to Kennidie."The memorial service is on Tuesday. Hill's friends will continue to mourn, but they say there is some comfort; Kennidie reminds them of her mother."I told Jessica since day one that this little girl is so much like you, it scares me," said Williams. *** The raffle at Marvin's Bar for Hill's daughter ends Sunday at 4 p.m. A bank account has been set up for Kennidie at First Interstate Bank under the name ?The Benefit for Kennidie Marie Allen.? There's also a donation box at the Iron Horse restaurant in Missoula.
