With the Rays calling-up OF Justin Ruggiano before Friday's game against the Marlins, the idea was to have him come off of the bench initially. That was thrown out the door once B.J. Upton left the game after the second inning with a gluteal injury. Ruggiano handled it well, making some solid defensive plays in center field and drawing a walk on offense. He did notch a hit though, finishing 0 for 2 in the loss.
