?

SALT LAKE CITY ? With 12 minutes on the clock, Westminster business students will have an opportunity to ?speed date? with more than 15 non-profit organizations around the area during the second annual Board Match on March 14.? Westminster College's chapter of Delta Mu Delta, the business student honor society, will host the event from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Special Events Room in the Dolores Dor? Eccles Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center.

?

During this year?s DMD Board Match, representatives from a variety of non-profit firms will discuss their organizations and interview graduate and undergraduate students for potential board member positions.? Last year?s Board Match was very successful, with 21 nonprofits and over 80 students participating.

?

?We have made a few changes to this year?s event,? explained Melissa Koerner, Westminster associate professor of management and 2012 Board Match faculty advisor. ?Each student will be required to register in advance and select four non-profits they wish to meet, which will allow the organizations to review information and biographies on the students they will be meeting prior to the event.??

?

The format of this year?s DMD Board Match will include presentations by the non-profits on their organization?s mission, program and services offered, as well as an explanation of open board positions. After the presentation, students are invited to submit business cards and resumes, as well as provide a summary of their strengths and skills. ?Time? will be called every 12 minutes.

?

?We think participating in a non-profit board is a great?way for students to enrich?their educational experience. And?nonprofit representatives?have told us?they like the enthusiasm and work ethic that business students bring to the organization, so it works out well for everyone.???
